My boss makes the best chocolate cake in the world. He loves to bake, but we don’t let him make anything but this chocolate cake when we have pot lucks or birthday parties.
Is it a secret family recipe?
Nope.
It is actually the “Perfectly Chocolate” chocolate cake recipe that’s on the Hershey’s Cocoa container. For reals. The only thing that he does differently is that he adds hot coffee instead of the hot water the recipe calls for. It’s AMAZING!!
My sister has been hearing me talk about this cake for a long time so I decided to make it for her. She loved it and my mom wants me to make it again for a birthday lunch at her work. The coffee really does make a difference. I totally recommend subbing the hot water with coffee.
