Are you a fan of pastries? I definitely am. The problem is, I probably shouldn’t love them so much since they’re not great for my blood sugar, and my doctor’s asked me to cut back on carbs. But the thing is, pastries are just so beautiful, and I can’t resist how pretty they are! Pretty food just calls to be eaten, don’t you think?
Yesterday, I had lunch with my parents at a Japanese restaurant, and as we were walking back to the car, I spotted a small shop called Ollie Patisserie just a couple of doors down. We were all stuffed from lunch, but I couldn’t resist a place with “patisserie” in the name. It’s just so French! A quick peek at their website confirmed I was making the right decision heading that way!
I kind of regret not taking a picture of the inside of the shop, but I was so captivated by the colorful displays of macarons and pastries that I couldn’t be bothered to pull out my phone. I wanted to order everything in sight, but I narrowed it down to three items. A chocolate croissant was a must, and Ollie’s was massive. Since I’m a big fan of danishes, I went with the mixed berry one. The last choice was a pistachio croissant—something I’d never tried before. I’ve only ever had almond croissants, so I was excited to give it a try.

Everything was so delicious! I had such a great time enjoying each one. Not all at once, of course, but honestly, I think I could’ve easily eaten them all in one go if I really tried! Just look at the flaky layers of the croissants. I’ve never really been a pistachio person. I’ll snack on them if my mom buys them, but I wouldn’t usually pick them out myself. Lately, though, I’ve been getting pistachio lattes from Starbucks, and I’ve got to admit, the pistachio croissant was amazing! It’s pretty similar to an almond croissant, so if you’re a fan of those, you’ll definitely love the pistachio version.
If you’re ever in Frisco, Texas, definitely give Ollie’s pistachio croissants a try! I am definitely going back to try there. macrons and other pastries.
