Have you heard of magnesium butter? I recently stumbled upon it on Instagram, and being the easily influenced person that I am, I couldn’t resist looking into it. Did you know there are tons of different types of magnesium, each offering its own unique benefits? I’m not here to dive into all the different types of magnesium and their benefits (though there are plenty). Instead, I want to share my experience with using magnesium butter.

You’ll notice in my feature image that magnesium chloride is one of the main ingredients in magnesium butter. This ingredient is why magnesium butter is known for its muscle-relaxing properties. It is great for easing sore or tense muscles, particularly after a workout or during stressful times. It also helps regulate the body’s stress response, offering a calming effect that can reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Additionally, magnesium plays a key role in regulating melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep, making magnesium butter an excellent option for improving sleep quality. Applying it to areas like the wrists, feet, or temples before bedtime can enhance relaxation and support better sleep. Who wouldn’t want that?

The product that first caught my eye on Instagram was pretty expensive, and with the holidays coming up, my budget is a bit tight. So, instead of splurging, I decided to check out Etsy for more affordable options. While you can easily find magnesium butter on Amazon, I wanted to support a small business in the spirit of the season.

After browsing through several shops that sell magnesium butter, I decided to give the one from Nature’s Beauty 2022 a try.

I’ve been using magnesium butter for almost two weeks now, and I can honestly say it’s helped me relax and get better sleep. As someone who struggles with anxiety, one of my biggest challenges is turning my brain off enough to truly unwind. I often find myself fighting sleep for no clear reason. After following the instructions and applying the magnesium butter to my feet, I’ve noticed something surprising—I’m actually feeling sleepy and able to fall asleep more easily, rather than resisting it. Usually, it takes me a while to reach that point of sleepiness, but lately, I’ve been drifting off much faster. I’ve wondered whether it’s just because I’m extra tired or if the magnesium butter is playing a role. At this point, I’m leaning towards believing it’s the butter making a difference. I’m not sure how much restful sleep I’m actually getting with my dog as my sleep buddy, but I have definitely woken up feeling more refreshed a few times.

I’ve also applied the magnesium butter to some aches and pains here and there at night, and I’ve noticed I don’t wake up feeling plagued by them, which is definitely a plus.

The product can feel a bit greasy, so I’ve started wearing socks to bed. I noticed that it tends to rub off on my sheets, and I’m not a fan of that residue feeling. I’d say that’s probably the only downside to using magnesium butter, though it could just be with this particular product.

If you’re someone who could use some relaxation or relief from muscle tension and discomfort, I highly recommend giving magnesium butter a try. You don’t have to buy from the same seller I did—there are plenty of options out there. If you do decide to try it, let me know how it works for you!
