Happy New Year, everyone! Can you believe it’s already 2025? Is the year starting off the way you expected? I’m still committed to my New Year’s resolutions. So far, I’ve stuck to my goal of not choosing beef when I buy or order food. I haven’t started my exercise journey yet, but I will! I’m just taking a little time to mentally prepare for committing to a thirteen-week exercise program. As for being more financially responsible, I’m making progress. I haven’t bought anything unnecessary, and I’ve only purchased items that were on sale—things I wouldn’t buy at full price. That’s being financial responsible, right?
I bought these Mary Janes from Birdies called The Hummingbird, originally priced at $150, but on sale for $75. I’ve had my eye on them for a while, but I just couldn’t justify paying full price for them. I really hope they fit! I have narrow feet, so finding comfortable shoes can be a challenge. All the cute ones tend to be uncomfortable for me, which is why I end up wearing the same pair over and over again. Fingers crossed these work out!
The denim material should work really well with pretty much any outfit I decide to wear. I’m hoping it’s versatile enough to match with all the colors in my wardrobe! The older I get, the less tolerant I am of shoes with any kind of heel. I’ve really fallen for flats—they’re just so much more comfortable. If I absolutely have to wear heels, though, I’d go for kitten heels—they’re the perfect height for me!
So, some of my co-workers and I have joined a book club, and it’s going to be interesting! We all have different genre preferences, so I’m curious to see if I’ll enjoy the books we choose—especially the ones from genres I’m not really into. It should be a fun challenge!
I was part of a book club over ten years ago, and I still remember the first book we chose. It was an autobiography by Jenna Jameson called How to Make Love Like a Porn Star. That still makes me giggle! It was definitely an interesting read, to say the least.
I’m suggesting The Killing Plains by Sherry Rankin as our first book. I’m usually into trashy romance novels, but now that I’m in a book club, I feel like I need to be more mature and choose books that Hollywood might want to turn into movies.
