It’s that time of year again—election season. This morning, I did my civic duty by visiting my local polling place on the first day of early voting. Every election feels like a big deal, but doesn’t this one seem especially vital? Maybe it’s because it truly is. For someone with generalized anxiety, it’s tough not to get swept up in the excitement, anger, and turmoil. Will the world end if your candidate loses? Probably not, but it might feel that way.
Whether you identify with blue or red, you know the weight of enduring a “bad” presidency. Personally, I can’t face another bad one. So, for fuck’s sake, could my candidate please win?
Don’t neglect your responsibility—get out and vote!
On another note…
I had the Snow White Roll for lunch today—crab meat wrapped in soy paper and topped with super white tuna and jalapeños. It was really tasty, though I think it would have been even better with some ponzu sauce on the side.
Isn’t there just something about “krab” with a “k” that makes you want to order a dish like this? Doesn’t it look delicious?
I need to layoff the carbs so this rice-less roll was perfect. I did have two other rolls that had rice in it. but we don’t have to talk about that.
